Choose from two exciting options:

Option 1:
Stay near St. John’s and photograph Atlantic Puffins from a large boat in Witless Bay. This option is perfect for those who prefer to stay close to the city and want a quick puffin photography experience.

Option 2:
Embark on an overnight trip to the Bonavista Peninsula for an up-close and personal puffin experience. Get detailed shots of puffins from land, with accommodations, transportation, and a professional photo guide included.

We’ll work with you to capture the perfect picture of Atlantic Puffins, whether you’re a seasoned photographer or a curious explorer. Everyone is welcome to join us and experience the beauty of Newfoundland!

What to Expect

Capture the Charm of Newfoundland’s Atlantic Puffins with Us!

Whether you’re an avid photographer or simply want to experience the beauty of puffins, we offer two fantastic options for your adventure:

Witless Bay (Option 1)

This option is perfect for those staying in St. John’s or who have limited time. It begins with a scenic 40-minute drive from St. John’s to Witless Bay, where you’ll board a boat for a 1.5-hour trip to a seabird sanctuary. Once at the sanctuary, you’ll have about 20 minutes to observe and photograph puffins and other seabirds from the boat. If you’re looking for a quick and straightforward way to see puffins and enjoy some birdwatching, this option is ideal. After the boat tour, we’ll explore some unique local spots, such as the Jelly Bean Houses. You can select the number of boat tickets when you book.

Bonavista (Option 2)

For a more immersive experience, consider an overnight stay on the Bonavista Peninsula. This option provides ample time to photograph puffins at two different locations over two days. Here, puffins often come as close as 4 to 5 feet, allowing for detailed, full-frame portraits. This extended time also gives you the flexibility to capture a range of other stunning sights, including icebergs, whales, foxes, a rugged coastline, and a picturesque fishing village. This option includes accommodations, transportation, and a professional photo guide to assist you throughout your stay.
