As the day winds down\, you’ll head to other scenic locations for a breathtaking sunset shoot\, capturing the dramatic coastal views. You’ll stay overnight in Bonavista. \n \nJune 4: Bonavista – Icebergs & Zodiac Trip \nOn your third day\, you’ll start with a morning photography session focused on capturing the stunning coastal scenery and any puffins you might encounter. After lunch\, you’ll embark on a thrilling zodiac trip to find icebergs\, whales\, puffins\, etc… This adventure will bring you up close to these magnificent ice formations\, providing incredible opportunities to photograph their striking blue hues and unique shapes. The zodiac trip also offers a chance to capture coastal birds in their natural habitat. After a day filled with photography\, you’ll enjoy a relaxing sunset session by the coast before staying overnight in Bonavista. \n \nJune 5: Morning in Bonavista & Travel to Twillingate \nOn your fourth day\, you’ll spend the morning in Bonavista\, capturing more scenic shots and enjoying any last-minute puffin photography opportunities. After lunch\, you’ll travel to Twillingate\, a renowned location for iceberg photography. Twillingate is also home to various coastal birds\, giving you further opportunities to photograph them alongside the icebergs. In the evening\, we’ll enjoy a welcome supper together to meet the group and go over the exciting bird photography adventures ahead \n. \nJuly 29: Cape St. Mary’s Ecological ReserveWe’ll travel to Cape St. Mary’s\, one of Newfoundland’s most iconic seabird sanctuaries. Here\, we’ll photograph thousands of Northern Gannets\, Razorbills\, Murres\, and Kittiwakes nesting on dramatic cliffs just meters away. We’ll stay overnight in the St. Mary’s area to capture the best lighting conditions at both sunset and sunrise. \n \nJuly 30 – August 1: Bonavista Peninsula and PuffinsNext\, we’ll journey north to the Bonavista Peninsula\, where we’ll spend three days photographing Atlantic Puffins\, Common Murres\, Razorbills\, and other seabirds along the rugged coastline. A highlight will be a zodiac trip to nearby islands teeming with seabirds — an unforgettable experience for close-up wildlife photography. We may also encounter humpback whales and other marine life during our time at sea.On the afternoon of August 1\, we’ll travel back to St. John’s and settle in at the JAG Hotel for our final two nights. \n \nAugust 2: Seabird Excursion and Local Birding AreasWe’ll begin the day with a boat trip to the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve\, home to millions of seabirds. This area is one of the most active bird colonies in North America\, offering fantastic opportunities to photograph Atlantic Puffins\, Common Murres\, Razorbills\, and Black-legged Kittiwakes — often at close range. While out on the water\, we may also spot whales and other marine life.Later in the day\, we’ll explore some of the best local birding areas around St. John’s\, including lakes\, ponds\, and wetlands known for attracting both resident and migratory species.That evening\, we’ll enjoy a farewell group supper together and share some of our favorite images from the tour. \n \nAugust 3: Travel HomeEnjoy breakfast before departing for your flights home. You can book your flights for this day. \n \nSpecial Note:Throughout this tour\, we’ll always be keeping an eye out for rare bird sightings reported across the province. Over the past several years\, a Steller’s Sea Eagle — a magnificent and extremely rare visitor from Asia — has been seen periodically in Newfoundland. You’ll photograph rolling landscapes\, forests ablaze in autumn colour\, and lakes reflecting the season’s vibrance.Alternatively\, guests may fly into Deer Lake\, where we can pick you up directly to start the tour from the west coast. We’ll settle into our accommodations and capture a relaxed golden-hour session nearby. \n \nDay 2 – October 7th: Gros Morne National Park – South & North Sides\nWe spend the full day in Gros Morne National Park\, beginning with the south side in the morning—where we’ll photograph fjords\, trails\, and dramatic coastal cliffs bursting with fall foliage.After lunch\, we continue to the north side\, featuring wide valleys\, colourful woodlands\, and panoramic viewpoints perfect for autumn landscape photography. \n \nDay 3 – October 8th: Bald Eagles by Boat & Sunset at Bottle Cove\nIn the morning\, we’ll take a boat tour along the coast to photograph bald eagles\, seabirds\, and striking shoreline features from the water.After a break\, we head to Bottle Cove for an evening session\, capturing layered cliffs\, colourful skies\, and dramatic light as the sun sets over the ocean. \n \nDay 4 – October 9th: Western Brook Pond & Northern Wildlife\nWe venture further up the coast\, stopping at Western Brook Pond and other wild areas to photograph caribou\, moose\, and foxes in their natural habitat. The forests here are particularly brilliant with autumn colour.We’ll also visit coastal fishing villages and seascapes\, offering rich cultural and scenic photo opportunities. \n \nDay 5 – October 10th: Wildlife\, Lighthouses & Final West Coast Shoot\nOur last full day on the west coast is flexible—focused on wildlife\, colourful landscapes\, and lighthouses along the coast.
